Dear Norman,
Welcome to this month's issue of Quantum Leap,
Quantum Leaders' newsletter for leaders who want to
take their companies to the next level of business
success.
This month's issue returns to the challenges of
execution. Developing a strategy is certainly a
challenge yet executing the strategy is where the
real challenge lies.
We continue hope you find this issue as valuable as
in the past. We encourage you to pass this along to
others who would benefit from what we share. Just
click on the "forward email" at the bottom of
the newsletter.
Have a great day,
Norman Wolfe
Quote of the Month

expected a little bit more?
You know what you have accomplished. Build on it,

It's all about execution.
by Norman Wolfe, CEO Quantum Leaders
The recent issue of the Harvard Business Review, July-August 2005 is filled with some wonderful articles on creating High-Performance Organizations. Of particular note is: “Turning Great strategies into Great Performance” by Mankins and Steele, (pg 64). While it is a challenge to select the right strategy for an organization, the more difficult challenge, and the only challenge that counts, is how well the strategy is executed.
Most of the focus in the past has been on the development of strategy. Look up any MBA or Executive MBA program and you will find a host of programs on effective strategic planning. You will find methods for understanding the needs of the customer, mapping your core competencies, even for mapping the competitive landscape. But you will find little on how to execute the strategy.
